This
class is designed after Susan’s quilt (shown above right)
“It’s the Thought That Counts,"
that was in the New England Quilt Museum. We all have those beautiful
batik panels and don’t know how to transform them into a beautiful
piece of quilted art. Using a batik panel of your choice you will
make a one of a kind wall hanging. Large graph paper will be the
template technique to put together your design.
Workshop
Susan will aid
you in abstract design and composition, offering several new piecing
designed from traditional skills, and these techniques will enhance
your art work. The paper patterns you draw in class will aid all
levels in succeeding with this project.
You will learn
five new piecing techniques rooted in tradition, breaking old rules
while creating a new quilt combined with a batik panel which will
create an original work of art.
Finish off with
appliqué and have a free spirit to try something new and
exciting!!!
