Susan Vassallo Quilt Charlotte's Vacation
CHARLOTTE'S VACATION 38 x38
Presidents Challenge for AZLAQ Quilt in AZ Nov. 2007, received first place for best use of color and second place for Custom Quilting! This quilt started by a drybrush sketch on a whole cloth, then I quilted the details of the imag. Ater stitching, I took my paints once again to accentuate details and dimension. The image is inspired by fond memories of vacationing up on the lake. We, as kids, would explore the woods and find old cabins; trailing through spider webs was obviously part of the adventure !

A huge exercise in raw edge applique, completely done on my gammill and beaded extensively. Named after my brother's beautiful back yard and a wonderful way to use all the gorgeous florals we all collect!
