Susan
Vassallo has been working with creative sewing techniques
for almost ten years. She has taken quilting to a new level of excellence
with creative beauty in her elegant designs. This website is designed
to show off some of her stitching techniques and many pieces of artistry,
as well as promote classes for students wishing to learn this art
form.

A Pearl For My Bracelet II |
In the
December 2007 / January 2008 issue of Quilting Arts magazine, Susan's
"A Pearl for My Bracelet" work has been featured in the
Spotlight Article. This is quite an exciting event
along with her brand new website, and we hope you enjoy watching the
rise of popularity for her inspiring pieces of quilting artwork. Her
work has also has been used for publication for the promotion of the
Museum tour in Connecticut.
Juried shows include:
the Art Quilts exhibition in Chandler AZ; the Images Show sponsored
by the new England Quilt Museum Textile Festival, Art on Boston Gallery
in Chandler AZ, and a “one-man-show” at the Agawam Town
Library in Massachusetts, and Susan’s quilting is included in
the permanent collection of the Firehouse Town Museum in Agawam Mass.
She has also won a variety of first, second, third, and honorable
mentions at many local shows.
Other shows include
the Hill-Stead Museum in Connecticut, This was a “one-man”
show sponsored during the Historical Museums Garden tour, an annual
tour of nine museums on the CT Impressionist trail. Susan was the
first artist to exhibit for this tour, and the Curator was excited
to have other artists follow her lead in exhibiting during this special
event.

The quilt, “It’s
the Thought That Counts” is the basis of her Abstract Design
class. Susan has taught in Massachusetts and Connecticut and now she
teaches all over the state of Arizona her technique of innovative
abstract piecing. Her students have encouraged her to publish the
ideas, therefore, Susan is presently working on that very book proposal
